Continuing Education Select any of the following Continuing Education courses or workshops.
The South Florida District Dental Association is a recognized provider of the American Dental Association's Continuing Education Recognition Program, the Academy of General Dentistry and the Florida Board of Dentistry. The SFDDA provides CE credit slips to those attending SFDDA-sponsored courses thought to be eligible for credit for re-licensure in Florida. Florida licensed dentists and hygienists must self-report their CE credits to the Florida Board of Dentistry, as well as any other entity to whom they report continuing education credits. By law, Florida dentists need 30 hours of Board of Dentistry approved CE during each biennium, of which two hours must be laws, rules, and ethics, and two hours must be preventing medical errors. Once every four years, or every other biennium, dentists must also take, as part of the 30 required hours, a one-hour course in HIV/AIDS (two hours for first time licensee) and a one hour course on domestic violence. The Biennium ends on the last day of February in every even numbered year.
