The South Florida District Dental Association is a recognized provider by the Florida Board of Dentistry. The SFDDA provides CE credit to those attending SFDDA-sponsored courses thought to be eligible for credit for re-licensure in Florida. Florida licensed dentists and hygienists must self-report their CE credits to the Florida Board of Dentistry, as well as any other entity to whom they report continuing education credits.

By law, Florida dentists need 30 hours of Board of Dentistry approved CE during each biennium, of which the following is mandatory:

  • Medical Error: 2 Hours - Required every biennium.
  • Domestic Violence: Only required to be taken every 3rd Biennium. (Once every 6 years).
  • CPR: Renewed every 2 years.
  • HIV/Aids: Is required for initial license and must be completed no later than the first time license renewal. Once taken, it never has to be taken again.
