Time to renew Dental License

Renewal Process:

Continuing Education (CE) Requirement: 
Completing 30 hours of CE is required to successfully renew your dental license. 

Required Courses:
  • General: 28 hours (including a maximum of three hours of practice management courses. You can review the BOD’s criteria for practice management by clicking here.).
  • Medical Errors: two hours (due every biennium).
  • Domestic Violence: two hours (due every third biennium).
  • HIV/AIDS: two hours (due only during the first renewal).
  • Safe and Effective Prescribing of Controlled Substances: two hours (required for all licensed dentists regardless of Drug Enforcement Administration licensing, needed for every renewal.)
  • Current CPR Certification: You must have a current CPR Certification to renew. Note: CPR certification will not count towards the 30 hours of CE needed for renewal.
First-year Renewing?:
If this is your first time renewing your license, you are required only to complete two hours of Prescribing Controlled Substances and two hours of HIV/AIDS.
