Welcome
The
South Florida District
Dental Association (SFDDA)
is part of a tripartite system including the
Florida Dental Association and
American Dental Association. Its members are also
members of these state and national organizations. Democratically
elected representative bodies govern all three levels.
The South Florida District Dental Association was founded in October
1922, by 25 charter member dentists.
The district's geography included all counties bordering Florida's
east coast from Vero Beach to Key West. In the 1960's the Association
was restructured into two separate geographic districts, and now
encompasses Dade, Monroe and South Broward Counties. The northern
counties became the Atlantic Coast District. In 2003, there are nearly
1,300 active members in the South Florida District. The Association
supports a six member administrative staff in an office located in
Coral Gables, FL.
